The artist/producer I will be writing about today goes by
the name Dr.Dre.
Dr.Dre is an American rapper, record producer, record
executive, entrepreneur, and occasional actor. He is the founder and current
CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics. Dre was previously the
co-owner and artist of Death Row Records. He has produced albums for and
overseen the careers of many rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and
Game. In 1996 Dr.Dre released the aftermath album, were Dr.Dre produced himself
and his album. The turning point for Aftermath came in 1998, when Jimmy Iovine,
the head of Aftermath's parent label Interscope, suggested that Dr. Dre sign
Eminem, a rapper from Detroit. Dre produced three songs and provided vocals for
two on Eminem's successful and controversial debut album The Slim Shady LP,
released in 1999.The Dr. Dre-produced lead single from that album, "My
Name Is", would help propel Eminem into stardom. The album was eventually
certified 4x Platinum and helped to revive the Aftermath label. Also during
this time, Dre assisted on the mix for Nine Inch Nails' track "Even
Deeper", from 1999 album The Fragile. Aside from that Dr.Dre has been Credited
as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap
music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats. Dr.Dre has
also been ranked as the third richest figure in the American hip hop scene by
Forbes with a net worth of $250 million. Dr.Dre has taught me that you should
not let anybody stop you from following your dreams. He has also taught me that
if you work hard and get a little luck you can make your own empire , even if
you hit little rough patches along the way if you stay focused on what’s
important you can overcome anything.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all I like the person you choose for your post. Big person in the music industry and for that reason I think you should put more detail info about Dr. Dre. Your post flow nicely and very easy to read. A little advise for you blog is to keep in every post the same font and letter size. And the other thing is to separate your work in paragraphs, it will help you to look more professional. Great Job!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your blog about Dr. Dre. I was actually considering Dr. Dre as the topic for my blog post, but switched to Knaye West at the last minute. I liked the fact that you have a lot of dates and specific information listed about Dr. Dre. That shows that you really did your research and know your facts. Recently, I learned that Dr. Dre was the number one earner last year for the Forbes’ hip-hop charts. He earned over one hundred million dollars thanks to his lucrative venture into the Dre Beats audio company last year. That goes right along with what you were talking about with his overall net worth. They probably haven’t done all the work to make a final figure for his new net worth thanks to his highly successful business. I’m sure it touches many hearts that you are so immensely inspired by Dr. Dre. That type of motivation can take you far. Keep up the good work. The only thing I could find wrong was the grammar in your blog. A quick spell-check or second person looking over your post could easily fix those minor errors, though. Keep on swimming and doing such a great job!
